Book Review - Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Read : October 2013
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.
After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.
All Katy can do is survive.
Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?
Together, they can face anything.
But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?
And will they even be together?
Wow. Amazing book. Not on my #1 favorites, though, I would give it a 5/5 notes rating. Jennifer's writing style is amazing, she puts in every little detail and no matter how sad, or happy the scene/moment is, she manages to make it seem so real. It feels like I'm living in this book, and that I'm Katy. However, there were some minor issues, I'm not sure if that's how I should describe it but those issues were errors that I totally disliked in this book, although I'm not sure if its necessary or not, it just annoys me to read it.
NonSpoiler Book(NOT SERIES.BOOK.so,if you don't understand, I mean, this will be spoiler for the previous three books, but not for this book) Review :
So, yea. mostly everything is said in the paragraph above. Let me just summarize for you. This will include spoilers for the previous three books, so if you haven't read JLA's Lux series yet, you need to go read  them and come back for the rest of the book review!
So, this book, Origin, is mainly focused on how Daemon can't live without Katy and that he has to save her and, you know...like...the feelings you feel in JLA's writing about how Daemon really loves Katy....(I'm not even sure if that makes sense...)It has two POV's. One from Katy, the other from, obviously, Daemon. Normally, I don't really like Dual POV's, it's confusing and really...really...just...i don't know. It's just a ugly feeling I get when I read books like that. BUT, this was one of the books where I loved the POV's. It is one of the few books which I love with two point of views. Anyways, back to the summary. It was basically focused on Daemon saving Katy from Daedalus. If I remember correctly, the end of Opal has a cliffhanger, which Katy is captured by Daedalus and Daemon finally says the words "I love you Katy,Always will, Always have." That part was so sweet.
JUMP TO WHAT I THINK ABOUT THE CHARACTERS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED.THE SPOILER REVIEW IS AFTER THIS.
Warning - Spoiler!
Spoiler book review :
Weee. This was a joy ride for me. Although, like I said, didn't hit my favorites list, it still got a 5 star rating from meh. To be honest though, it was very awesome reading from two point of views. It's annoying though. Because its mostly based on daemon finding Katy and then rescuing her, and then they receive new identities and hide out. Then Mathew betrayed them. WAIT WHAT?! you know what I said. Mathew betrayed them. Omg. That was so unpredictable. Mathew? Seriously? The one who comforted Katy? Just wow Jennifer. It's sad. I forgot who, but either Daemon or Dawson who killed him without hesitation. That's just sad. I mean, I don't get it. Mathew turning one of his family in to protect the others? And Luc and Archer finding that out? That's just more awkward. Woah.... Later on, like a few chapters after that scene, Katy and Daemon get married? With their FAKE identities? What whattt?! That's just sad too. I hope, in the last book, they can receive a normal life. Omg. Will they even be able to get the high school degree?! Wow.... I feel so bad for Katy, I mean, I know Daemon was the one who dragged her into this freaky alien world, and he keeps blaming himself. I mean, that's part of the reason(He takes part of the blame), but Katy just stepped into their world - which makes her a strong protagonist.. Overall, awesome book. Love Jennifer's writing style - only flaw was the annoying part, which was Daemon thinking over and over again about Katy being trapped there. To be honest, I loved Katy's POV in the beginning of the book.
Reading Process :

The Elder paled. " You're fighting you own kind, Daemon. That is unforgivable."
"I'm not asking for your forgiveness. I'm not asking for shit."
Hahahaha. You tell him Daemon. I was sort of getting sick of them. Lol.
Page 12
Ethan sucked in a sharp breath. "You're done here."
"So be it."
What?! Did he just get cast out, or did Ethan just end the conversation there?
Page 22
"The hell he is," my brother cut in, and when I said nothing, he strung together so many curse words I was actually impressed.
Hahahehehe. Yay Dawson! For cursing too much - making Daemon impressed.
Page 47
The hopelessness of it all hit me. Up until that moment, I don't know what I was really thinking. That I still had some say in what was going to happen around me and to me.
Noo, Katy. Don't lost hope! Daemon WILL come!

Big Boy's nostrils flared. "Ain't feelin' real good."
Hahaha. Of course it doesn't feel good to have a gun pointed at your head.
Page 66
"Do I look like I give a flying rainbow if you believe me? You broke into Mount Weather, a government stronghold. It takes no stretch of imaginations to guess that something went wrong. I did what I promised."
Ahh, Daemon just got owned. Now he needs to shut up and listen to what Luc has to say - Sorry Daemon.
----------------
"If Daedalus has your girl, you can kiss her good-bye," Hunter said from across the room. "They are some fuc- "
Yes, They are Hunter. They are some fuc-. Hahaha. No. Sorry. Bad joke. But yea.

Kat kept her eyes closed. "I miss my mom," she whispered, and my heart cracked."I really miss her."
Aww,Shoot...My heart cracked too - just reading that sentence...
Page 199
"Y-yes, but this goes asainst protocol," Mr.Talkative stuttered. "We can't - "
"You know what?" Daemon took a step forward, glancing up. I didn't see any cameras, but that didn't mean they weren't there. "Protocol this."
Lololol. This time I have to say "Lol." Best scene yet!

This was it.
My first reaction to headlights would be to grab a gun, to get ready to shoot - to shoot to kill if necessary.
Holy ffffudgess.. That is just sad...
Page 257
"Your lovely sister and brother showed up at my club and threatened to burn it down if I didn't tell them where you were," Luc said, glancing up from his phone. "True Story."
Ahahaha, Nice story Luc. That totally made me laugh <3
(No Spoiler)What I think about the Chars :
- Archer : Awesomeness. Just some hot guy who hangs around in the book. Love him. Although he is quite mysterious when we first meet him...
- Daemon : In this book, Awesome - Sad though. He keeps _____   _______ for what he didn't do.
- Katy : She's a strong girl in this book. Awesome that I can still read from her point of view and Daemon's at the same time.
- Mathew : What the what?!
- Luc : He helped....alot.
